Product Description

Double Horse 1 Hour Idli-Dosa Mix is a convenient, chef-tested blend that helps you make soft, fluffy idlis and thin, crispy dosas with minimal effort. The 500g pack contains a ready-to-use mix of rice, lentils and natural seasonings specially formulated so you only need to add water, rest briefly and cook. Ideal for mornings, tiffin boxes, or whenever you crave fresh South Indian fare without the long preparation time.

How to Prepare

For Idli (approx. 12 small idlis)

  1. Take 250g (about 2 cups) of mix in a bowl.
  2. Add 300 350 ml lukewarm water gradually and whisk to a smooth, batter-like consistency (pourable but slightly thick).
  3. Cover and let rest for 45 60 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Grease idli moulds and pour batter. Steam for 10 12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool for 1 2 minutes, remove idlis and serve hot with chutney and sambar.

For Dosa (approx. 6 8 dosas)

  1. Take 200g of mix and add 250 300 ml water to form a slightly thinner, smooth batter (pourable consistency).
  2. Rest for 20 30 minutes.
  3. Heat a non-stick tava or griddle, pour a ladleful of batter and spread thinly in a circular motion.
  4. Drizzle a few drops of oil around edges and cook until golden and crisp. Flip if desired.
  5. Serve with chutney, potato masala or sambar.

Ingredients

Rice (parboiled rice, raw rice), urad dal (split black gram), chana dal, fenugreek, salt, natural spices, and permitted anti-caking agents. Contains: gluten-free grains; processed in a facility that also handles mustard and sesame.
